The Metro Manila Development Authority clarified that heavy flooding in the area last Friday was due to the said drainage system and not the Manila Bay Dolomite Beach. But the Public Works and Highways department admits that the rehabilitation of the drainage system is part of the Manila Bay Dolomite beach project.
DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan told CNN Philippines the repair project is facing delays because of additional requirements from the Environment department. He says work on the drainage may last until the end of September.
